Pre & Post Care for Permanent Makeup

What to Expect

Pre & Post Care Instructions

In order for your new brows to heal properly (and look their very best) the Pre & Post Care Instructions below are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service.  Excessive bleeding during the procedure can dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results.

Microblading Pre-Care Instructions

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 24 hrs before the procedure

  • NO Alcohol or caffeine 24 hrs before procedure

  • Avoid the sun or tanning one week before procedure

  • Do not workout before procedure

  • Discontinue Retin-A four weeks prior

  • Avoid supplements 24 hrs prior to procedure

  • Waxing treatments should be performed no less than 3 days prior to your procedure

  • Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle

Microblading Post-Care Instructions

Please Note:  Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder immediately after procedure. Eyebrows will scab and a complete healing takes about 2 weeks.  This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.

  • Apply the aftercare ointment given to you by your artist for the amount of days she has instructed.  Wash hands and apply with a fresh Q-Tip.

  • Do Not pick, rub or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing fall off naturally. Messing with scabbing can cause scarring and pigment loss!

  • Completely avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure.

  • Avoid the sauna, steam room, pool, hot showers and or baths for 3 weeks.

  • No facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, electrolysis or lasers for 3 weeks.

  • Avoid Retin-A and chemical peels around the brow area once healed

  • Avoid makeup on your brow area

  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days

  • Avoid excessive sweating for a full 7 days

Permanent Cosmetics and Microblading is NOT recommended for the following people:

Treatment of Skin Irregularities/Growths
Do you have Skin Tags, Brown Spots, Broken Capillaries (Red Spider Veins), Cherry Angioma (Red Moles), raised bumps on the skin, or Warts? Our Registered Nurse, who is certified in using a machine called a ‘Skin Sheek’, has the perfect treatment for you!

The ‘SkinSheek‘ treatment can achieve results that most other treatments cannot. You will be amazed with your new clear, smooth skin – absent of conditions you thought were permanent, or too costly to treat.

What is a ‘SkinSheek’ Treatment and is there any down time?

The ‘SkinSheek’ uses High Frequency AND Radio Frequency currents that are attracted to the water in the skin, allowing your Esthetician to adjust the intensity, without comprising results.  Similar machines only use High Frequency, using only a ‘sparking’ technique to dehydrate the skin and risk deeper tissue damage, and…hurts much more! Ask anyone who has used the ‘old technology’ of High Frequency only, and they will tell you…something needed to change!!   Well it has….and we have it.

This new machine with it’s new technology uses a tiny probe on the surface of the skin to dehydrate the problem area causing the body, over a few days, to exfoliate (possibly scab) the area treated. This results in clearing the skin of the irregularity.  The procedure is minimally invasive, with only a slight uncomfortable sensation while being treated. We do have numbing cream to help make the process more comfortable for certain areas or skin conditions.  This treatment requires very little down time. Possible scabbing on the area being treated, anywhere from 7-14 days, so plan accordingly to whatever social events you may have planned.

How long is the Treatment?
We schedule SkinSheek Treatments in 15 minute sessions. (add’l 15 mins can be added with no more than a total of 30 mins.)  We will remove as many as we can in that allotted time.   SkinSheek treatments can be added to the end of any treatment. (with the exception of Microneedling Treatments)

What Results Can You Expect?
Typically results can be seen with a single treatment, but depending on the condition being treated, sometimes two treatments are necessary. In most cases, the results are immediate and are often permanent.

Professional Microblading and More

in The Treasure Valley

With years of combined experience,

The Brow Club offers customized shaping, waxing, tweezing, trimming and tinting in addition to several permanent makeup methods and techniques, including microblading and ombré.

  • We will first draw on the brow by hand to get the shape that gives you balance, proportion, and symmetry. Our specially trained Browologist  will take into account your existing brow shape, your facial structure and your preferences. Once your perfect brow shape is decided on, we consult on the color. A color is custom mixed from pigments made with FDA-certified ingredients made in the USA.  Your color formulation will be documented for future touch-ups.

  • A topical numbing cream is applied which will take approximately 20 minutes to take effect. Then, the specialist will use a specially-made hand tool to delicately implant the pigment into the skin, strand-by-strand.

This technique is also known as Microblading. The entire treatment time is approximately two hours.

  • There is no downtime, however the brow will take about two weeks to fully heal. The brow may appear darker than you are used to for a few days, then will lighten into the desired color within two weeks. Please follow after-care instructions and return for the Touch-up Session (included in the price of the treatment) within 6-8 weeks.  Between the initial treatment and the Touch-up Session, you may experience peeling (typically noticeable only up close) and fading of the brow. This is a natural part of the treatment process. The Touch-up Session will build on the color that has already been absorbed into the skin.

  • Your beautiful new brows can last up to two years, depending on thickness and depth of color chosen, before fading naturally away.
